Oli is over 7 weeks old this week. This week he has really started to smile and today I got the biggest smile followed by the sweetest giggle! He has changed so much in the last couple of weeks. My boy is still eating like a champ and must say I'm a little afraid to see what he weighs at his 2 month well check appointment on the 31st! He is still mighty fussy once it reaches 4pm, but nothing compared to how miss Lexi was. We are working on tummy time, which isn't a favorite, and he spends more time trying to roll over then lifting his head :) Lexi keeps asking me to put him on the floor so he can crawl and I keep having to explain that he is still just a new baby and it will be a while before he starts to crawl around. I have a feeling once this happens she will be wanting him put into a swing or bouncy chair where he can't crawl after her and her toys!
Thank goodness it's finally Friday. This week nap times have been a huge struggle. I would get Lexi into bed and about half an hour later she would be coming out to go potty and then tell me she woke up from her nap. No, Lexi you haven't even fallen asleep yet. I would give her one show and try again. Sometimes that would work and sometimes it would be a major fail. After the recommendation of a friend I ordered a toddler clock from my favorite place, Amazon.com. It came yesterday and Lexi was beyond excited for the clock that would change colors. We sat down and I explained to her all the colors and what they mean. Before she went to sleep last night we reminded her that she couldn't come out of her room until the clock turned yellow. SUCCESS!!! She didn't come out of her room until it turned yellow even though she was up at 615! mommy got a little bit more sleep then yesterday. We used the nap setting today and thank goodness for that because she has been in her room for almost an hour still not sleeping, but at least she is quiet in her room. All my mommy friends would probably agree how important nap time is for us to have that quiet time alone even if just for an hour!! I would totally recommend this clock to all my friends, even if you don't have the same problem. The clock is super cute and it has tons of fun features!!
This weekend I am looking forward to seeing Divergent. I loved the books and have been waiting for the arrival of this movie since I found out they were making it. I just hope it is as good as the Hunger Games movies have turned out. It is always a sad disappointment when they make a movie from a book and it turns out to be pretty horrible (ie- Beautiful Creatures).
