Oliver is now 6 weeks old and changing everyday. You forget how fast they grow and develop! He had lost a lot of his hair but only the top front portion so he truly looks like a little old man! It makes me smile and I cant wait to see what color comes in. He is really starting to focus and be more attentive to what is going on around him. I have gotten a few little half smiles, but I am still waiting for that big baby smile where he is actually smiling at me! He is making more sounds and noises and this gives Lexi such joy. He still isn't sleeping that great during the night, but I can't complain because its more then Lexi ever gave us! He is eating like a champ so much so that I feel like all I do is feed the boy! He naps great during the day but only if on his stomach! And before you judge, I stay right by him, trust me it gives me extreme anxiety but I have to get homework done somehow!
Lexi is keeping me busy and on my toes, as usual. She is becoming more and more independent as she realizes that her baby brother tends to monopolize mommas time when he needs fed or is fussy. She just had her 3 year well check visit and it was so much fun. They really do the works at the visits now, she got her blood pressure taken (with the cutest little cuff) and the doctor took the time to talk with her to see what she has learned and what skills she has developed. She had a great time and asks when we can go back, mainly for the sucker she gets at the end of the visit, but I will take it! The days of her screaming bloody murder at the doctor and dentist are hopefully behind us!
I don't get out much, seeing as how I'm dreading the day I have to take both kids out in public alone. I know it's going to have to happen but I must admit it scares me. Luckily daddy understands and lets me out for a little on my own on the weekends. This weekend I am looking forward to going to Sam's 1st birthday party and celebrating with his family and friends. It's hard to believe he is already a year old, I still remember meeting him at the hospital!
As I finish up here I must just say how wonderful my life is. I'm listening to my daughter read a book in her bed since she woke up from her nap and it just makes my heart smile. Then I look beside me and see this handsome boy sleeping so peacefully I can barely hold it together. Who knew children could just make you feel so complete!
