I wasn't asleep but 30 minutes last night when my little pumpkin decided it was time to wake up and wale. This was 11pm. I tried my usual tricks to no avail and finally had to go in and get her. We rocked, we had a bottle, we swayed, we laid on the floor, she played a little, you name it we did it for almost 3 hours. During this 3 hours, of which she restlessly slept a lot of, I tried putting her down 4 or maybe even 5 times (I lost count). Each time she was asleep while we were rocking but as soon as her body hit the crib mattress she was up and screaming mad. Once I even made it out the door but as soon as I shut it she was screaming at me again. The worst part was the time I left her in to cry it out, it didn't work so well and she just started crying so hard she was gagging herself. Finally it was good 'ol Billy Joel that had the magic touch, as usual, and got her to actually stop crying and get to sleep in her crib. I sat outside her door with him playing with the door cracked for a good 20 minutes. She did allow me to sleep in until 7:30 which was needed and she has gone down nice and easy for her naps today. We even made it to Walmart and Kohls and were able to do some shopping! All in all, after a rough night we have had a pretty wonderful day. Tomorrow brings good things as well. Kim is coming over to hang out and spruce me up a little (much needed girlie time, if you ask me) and my mom might be here in the evening (if not then Sat) to stay for my Aunts visit this weekend. I have been waiting for Friday all week and I am so glad that it is finally here.
